Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is full of beautiful National Monuments.

this wine country was so pretty. it was hard/ really really sad(?) to get over the fact that even out here, on our classy little padded winetours, theres still in your face poverty. :(

I spent a semester here during college and LOVED it. Gosh, I miss the mountains outside my window and the braais with the international kids. Definatley and love the charm of this small university town in the middle of South African Wine Country.

Wine. The best red wines come from South Africa- IMHO! I want to taste more of it at the source!

Go Stellenbosch and go wine tasting, just rent a car and drive around the wineyards, book into the stellenbosch back packers (the last time I checked there were 2) and go bar crawling at night. Then spend sometime in the surrounding area (and more wine tasting) Book in advance for cheese tasting.
A word of advice, Stellenbosch people cannot drive properly…just be careful.

We spent a few days in Stellenbosch after Cape Town and it was fabulous. We would drive to a few winerys, stopping to have lunch on the way and return to our lodgings, sit out by the lake and have a cookout and enjoy the wine we discovered from earlier in the day.

I studied at Stellenbosch University and lived in the town for five years. Situated in the Boland region, 25 mins from Cape Town and famous for its vineyards. Picturesque setting, historic character, bustling entertainment.
