After more than a year of having this place on my list, I finally went to Disney’s California Adventure Park a couple of days ago. It was a weekday, but the park was still fairly crowded (I think because a lot of people are on Spring Break). There are many enjoyable rides and shows at the park for both adults and children to enjoy.
Some of my favorite rides were The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, (Rockin’) California Screamin’, and Soarin’ Over California. If you are a fan of The Twilight Zone (like me), then I think you’ll like this ride as much as I did. We entered the Twilight Zone by going into an “elevator,” which went up and down and stopped at some floors to see “scenes” and some that opened to nothing (just a view of the outside). The California Screamin’ rollercoaster is currently “rockin’” because it now plays music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers during people’s rides. The music is only going to play until April 26, 2007 though. I’d have to say that the music added to the ride and made it more fun. For those of you who know a lot about California’s landmarks, then I think you’ll enjoy Soarin’ Over California. This ride makes people feel like they’re in an actual airplane flying over California. Riders are seated in rows, which are lifted off and moved around as if in an airplane ride. There’s a big movie screen in front that shows the places in California and different scents can even be smelled while “flying” over certain places.
One of the first shows that we watched was Playhouse Disney (Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley, etc.). This show is mostly for the little kids, but I think adults would enjoy it too if they are really a kid at heart and don’t mind sitting on the floor. I really liked the two 3D shows, which were “Muppet 3D vision” and “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” I still try to reach up at things that are up close even though they aren’t really there!
I really recommend this place to anyone who likes Disney!
