Lincoln Park Zoo

I went here in 1995 when I was about 5. I remember that all the lions had died, so the zoo had no lions and I also remember bike midgets with tattoos in some animal-underground-tunnel-observatory-thing.

The zoo is not the best I’ve been to, but for free it is pretty nice! I feel sorry for some of the animals because their enclosures are so small. I was there during the Chicago Air Show. The animals were very tense and irritated by the big military jets. I want to go back on a non-air show day to see if the animals are happier.

I used to go here a lot. It’s not the most amazing zoo around, but it’s free and it’s in the middle of chicago and it’s a pretty neat spot just to stop by for a while. Right near there is also the lake and the conservatory and the nature museum, which are all cool places to go as well.

This is one of my favorite places in Chicago. It’s always free, you get to look at critters (the bears and the sandcats are the most entertaining… though the flamingos in the springtime are hilarious as well. Also, the squirrels are really fun to play with. I suggest bringing cashews.

The new ape exhibits are amazing.

Lincoln Park Zoo is the oldest free zoo in the United States, and it shows. I’ve been to the zoo a few times, and I cannot recommend it to visitors. It’s depressing; the animals are kept in enclosures that are far too small. If you must visit a zoo, go to Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL. They have 200 acres, and the animals have much more space, in a far more modern facility.

Saw maybe half of it due to drizzle and time limits, but still enjoyed it. The animals looked more bored than ill, but they were stuck inside for the day.

Very clean park, felt safe walking there. Sure was priced right.

We bought pink lemonade that came in pink elephant containers. It was awesome.

The zoo is free which is awesome, but unfortunately the animals are in very bad shape! I am against zoos in general, but this one is especially awful.
