Bay Area, Northern California

Untitled by moewe

was in 2001, when I made a trip with my doughter throughout the states in a 1982 Ford EcoVan, which I bought on eBay motors in front of the journey, still at home in Germany.

We did not all the SF-stuff, but cable car museum, fisherman’s wharf and Haight/Ashbury quarter alone was worth visiting. We had only 2 days, and I should go back asap :-)

As we left SF an old dream became true: Golden Gate Bridge! I was grown up in the former GDR, behind the “iron curtain”, and was all my youth dreaming of going over the GG!

Bay Area, Northern California

I visited here for the first time 10 years ago, and fell in love with SF. I decided then and there that one day I was going to make my home here. I finally made it here 4 years ago and it was the best move I ever made. I miss my sweet home Chicago, but I feel more connected to the Bay Area. My father served in WW2, on the USS San Francisco, and he loved this town. I remember the stories he told when I was a kid about coming home from the South Pacific battles, and seeing the Golden Gate from the sea and knowing he was home. What a sight that must have been. Yeah…I belong here.

Bay Area, Northern California

I lived in the Bay Area for 7 years and it was a great experience. I left New York in 1993, much to the chagrin of my family and friends, but in the end it changed my life in a very good way.

I kind of have to by Jason Rhyley

SF is a beautiful, vibrant city overflowing with history and culture and things to see; but beyond that I am both an unapologetic technofetishist and a gay man, so visiting here is like a hajj.

Lived there, had a wonderful time by tkfairy

Although I still go back from time to time, but I reall y miss living in the Bay Area out on my first real job. I was mostly alone and at times lonely, but I love the fact that I got to cook and picked up tap dancing.

Two-week visit in 2001 by jasonpettus

I made a two-week visit to the Bay area in 2001, and then ended up writing a little book about my experiences, available at my website (contact me for more). I loved it! Wish I could go back a lot more often, but I can’t afford it. It’s still entirely possible to get in a whole lot of trouble in SF, if that’s what you’re looking for.

best place on earth...san francisco bay area by md1983

they say new york city is the greatest city on earth… i haven’t been there yet, but my heart belongs in the san francisco bay area. and to me it’s the best place in the world… great weather and great food, it’s a melting pot of cultures. from the east bay to the peninsula, pier 39 to jack london square, the 49ers to the oakland athletics, it just can’t get any better than the san francisco bay area!
