Oktoberfest

If you’re going to drink beer, buy a ticket to the tents, the bier gardens were taken up well before we arrived for the opening! If you’re too cheap, arrive at around 8am (or earlier!) and be prepared to sit a while; the fest opens at noon. :) Even if you can’t get a seat in one of the open-entry beir gardens, Munich is still a great place to wander around. And there’s always the monastary and the Pauliner Haufbrauhaus!

Was there in ‘87 and ‘88….was stationed in Wolfgang, right outside Hanua. Loved it, loved Germany. Miss it and want to get back there. Have a good friend in Wurzburg. Need to get over to see him.

Each tent is very different and has uniquely different clientel… Be prepared to spend a lot of money and drink a lot of beer.

Go to the Paulaner tent.

And the Hofbrauhaus tent as well, if only to see Alousius.

Definitely head to the beer tents early you want to get a seat. Apparently weekdays are less crowded. We were there on the weekend and it was very busy!

Drink beer. Obviously.
