Summer Palace aka: Imperial Garden,颐和园

came here couple times b4, but this time is different,coz i first went to west side-XiDi. which is the most beautiful part of Summer Palace, since its quite far from each gate of Summer Palace, not many visitors came here. so its very quiet and peaceful.
if you come to Summer Palace, please dont miss Xidi, it definitely worth you walk miles.

IT’S VERY LARGE AND FASCINATING.

Beautiful place to walk or to sail!

I was fortunate to make friends with some Chinese students who took me here one afternoon. They were obviously proud to show it off to a Westerner, and I could understand why. The palace complex is right on the lake, and the lush vegetation rejuvenates you after all the pollution of the city. Take a long walk underneath the pillories and admire handpainted workmanship. Admire the marble ship and wonder out loud if its construction really did bankrupt the Empire. Watch hopeful suitors row their lovers across the lake, and jump in a paddleboat when you literally feel like getting your feet wet.

but I didn’t get to see it all. Too bad. The paddle boats were really fun, make sure you get a chance to do that when you go; and don’t go during the May holiday, it’s much more crowded.

We’re stopping for a few days in Beijing on our way to Seoul, we’ve already seen The Wall and the Forbidden City so we’re planning on seeing the Summer Palace this time, it’ll be just beautiful in the spring weather.

I’ll be going in May on my trip to Youth Conference. I hear that it’s really beautiful, I’m excited to see it.

after so many decades, the paintings and statues are still preserved.

Absolutely amazing! I spent a whole day there and it was the best ‘attraction’ I visited in Beijing. A must see!!
