Not worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Not to disagree with the many people who had a great time… But! grin. Actually, I worked here for over a year and spent much time here. It’s not so much that I wouldn’t recommend it as that I’d consider it overrated. There are some beautiful views, though I find Scripps Beach and Windandsea more accessible and less trafficked than the Cove. The most interesting thing about Windandsea is that used to be one of the most territorial surfing beaches in the country, and is also where Bob Simmons, one of the great innovators of surfing (he invented the skeg) died mysteriously one afternoon. It’s very expensive and much of the town closes up shop early, though there are some great restaurants. On the other hand, there are some beach towns that are much less touristy or expensive heading north of Del Mar – Leucadia and Encinitas are so much warmer in tone.

La Jolla Rocks

Beautiful surroundings, nice beaches, great restaurants and artwork, entertaining people to watch. Things are pricey in the area but you only live once. Mexican food abounds and memorable experiences await!

This place is awesome!

i absolutely, positively, love it here! i went two years ago on vacation, totally worth it. we went to an outdoor mall, that was like, five stories tall(they don’t have that in alabama!), and we went to my dad’s friend’s work, pulse link, which was like a playground, and we went to all these beaches. the water i freezing! the gulf of mexico is like bath water! but it was so much fun to see dark sand and giant rocks. my family is moving there in the future.

Good times

If you like beaches, you’ll have a good time at La Jolla beach. Amazing sunsets, so take your camera. Make sure you check out the boutique stores and restaurants too!

Road trip

I would like to take a long road trip along the Oregon and California coasts – begining at Newport since I’ve traveled the northern Oregon coast multiple times already…

La Jolla Cove

When in San Diego, La Jolla is worth the visit. Just one of the many beaches in CA but by far the best!! You can walk the streets of La Jolla, art galleries or eat great food. Then go to the Seal-Childrens’ Pool area and see the seals up on the beach, walk out on the sea wall, walk along the cliffs, have a picnic or go over to the shores and boogie board or have a bon fire. La Jolla has a little bit for everyone!! This is “Sunny Jim”, 145 steps down in a man-made tunnel into the biggest tunnel accesable by land.
