I Love Chinatown by vivacekate

I try to get in to Chinatown at least every other month. It’s probably my favorite part of the Chicago area. Great dim sum at Phoenix Restaurant, pho noodle soup at The Noodle, and shopping in dozens of quirky shops throughout the neighborhood. I was able to purchase a beautiful ink painting from a local artist during a summer street fair and have taken many friends with me to explore the area together.

So much fun! by peaceforhumans

China Town is a favorite place for us locals because the food is amazing, the shops are fun and inexpensive… and the summer festival is so much fun!

Tonight I ate a fine meal in Chicago’s Chinatown for the first time. I think it was a Malaysian place called Penang. We ordered 3 dishes and an app and everything was excellent!!

I was eating with a guy born in China in Chinatown so it’s just extra cool to me for some reason.

Maxim’s Bakery is only a few blocks from the Chinatown stop on the Red Line. Go to Maxim’s. It is cheap and delicious, two of my very favorite qualities in a food establishment. I’m sad it took me so many trips to Chinatown to discover this place, but I’ll be going there on every visit from now on.

Chinatown, Chicago was an incredible little entity of the city. It was like stepping into a whole different world! Great buildings, good food, cheap, cool crap to buy. On one side of Chinatown there’s this street & it really looks like a Chinese marketplace. It’s crowded with lots of people walking around & with people selling more cheap, cool crap in the streets.

A great thing there too is this huge wall thing that is all decorated with great Chinese symbols. One day I’ll put a picture up with me & my sister standing in front of it.

Chinatown is good! it rocked but then again anything is Chicago I thought was cool so it doesn’t take much to impress me

The Ultimate Oriental Experience by LeRoux

Chicago’s Chinatown has the best Chinese restaurants and neatest shops of any Chinese enclave in America, including San Francisco … and I’ve been to both.
