Daly City

I lived here from 1985 to 1986 at 243 Oak Ridge. We were up on a hill and had a great view overlooking the Cow Palace. We also could see the edge of what used to be called Candlestick Park.

An average suburban “city,” with a large immigrant (mainly Filipino, but other ethnic groups as well) population. DC is a place to pass through and stop to shop familiar stores and eats if necessary, but not to go out of the way to visit.

I grew up in lovely Daly City. I now live in Arizona and wish I was there in the nice cool weather. I fog can get you down sometimes but you can always drive 20 min away in the summer and get right to the warm sun. Here in Arizona you have to drive 2 hours to get a little midler weather.
This is a great place if you are into quaint 50’s homes. LOL
Also people here paint there homes the weirdest colors, understandible as the fog can make things glum sometimes.

Typical urban suburb. Many parts look just like parts of residential San Francisco. A couple good restaurants to check out if a BART ride takes you to Daly City or you just happen to be in the area: Boulevard Cafe (where Lyon’s used to be) and Joe’s of Westlake.

Every time I have been to Daly City it has been enveloped in fog so thick I couldn’t see my own nose. For whatever reason this triggers my sense of clausterphobia, so I hate Daly City, without any rational cause.

Like other cities in the Bay Area, this is a place people live, not really a place to visit.

A good place to start out if you’re biking from San Francisco to LA! Also: Chinese food.

i live close to SF so one time i told my freind i wanted to get away and we ended up cuttin sk0 and going down to daily city cuz she knew people down their dat she wanted to go visit… it was fun but i didnt get home until 7 and i got in trouble…lol

Not sure what questions I can answer… I got lost coming home from a Day on the Green concert in the late 70’s during the gas crisis. Then we got a flat tire and the spare was low. Since none of the stations had gas, they had not bothered to power up their compressors. It was an interesting trip. We ended up bumping into an old boyfriend from back home (Reno at the time) and he gave us his spare.

I do remember the people being nice and trying to help. Maybe I should rethink this entry and mark this one as I want to go back…
