I have lived here for 3 months now because my husband is in the Army. And it is really not as bad as I thought it would be. I was born and raised in Florida, so it is nice to get out of THAT God-forsaken state! Anywhere is better than there. Anyway…I was nervous about coming to Texas, but have found that I really enjoy it here. My husband is actually going to sign up for the Family Stability Program, so that we stay here and not have to get moved and re-stationed all the time!

EWW..do not go here.

Wow…holy hell…this place sucks.I lived here i know people from here and they all hate it. There isnt anything to do. You can go to a bar ,buy alcohol, pawn things for money to buy alcohol, live in really bad housing…if your enlisted you’ll hate it here. I hope i can convince people to not move here.

My Days in the Army were spent here

I spent almost 2 and a half years stationed at Fort Hood. It’s a big post, with lots to do, and they had a great museum for the 1st Calvary (my old division). The pomp and circumstance of the 1st Calvary Division is unlike most other divisions in the Army, when attending a ceremony they have an actual Calvary charge, with cannons and horses. I don’t know how things are now days, with higher security I’m sure it’s not possible to get on post without an invitation.
