Grand Bahama Island

Me and the love of my life are going to go there hopefully at the end of the summer. it’s just a way to treat her before she goes away to college. she’s not even gone yet and i already miss her.

If you don’t want to go out on a boat, there is a great little beach where you can snorkle- Paradise Cove. It’s across the island from Freeport, so it costs a little more for the taxi ride- but I thought it was worth it to get away from the crowds and the commercial feeling. Also interesting to see the beaten down trees from all the hurricanes in 2004. I thought we had it bad here in Florida.

My favorite place ever.

My mom took me to Grand Bahama for Spring Break my freshman year in college. The weather was cooler than we were expecting so we spent most of time laying out by the pool wrapped up in towels. However, I did go parasailing for the first time ever – way fun! So much fun, I ended up going twice! And we stayed at an amazing hotel – Grand Lucaya. I think it was kinda pricey but well worth the money!

Honeymooned on Grand Bahama. If you want an atmosphere of a secluded beach and not too much shopping then this is for you. We stayed in a Holiday Inn (as I recall) and were right on a beautiful and not a very busy beach area. The snorkeling was amazing, the sand white and the water perfectly clear.

I went with my family in the early 1990’s. Some areas on the island were great, some were slums.

It was beautiful. I don’t remember much more than that because I was young.

Don’t settle for the tourist areas near Our Lucaya and Freeport-there’s a lot more to this island!
