probably one of my favorite art museums..

i accidentally took this picture of the first wall when we got in and almost got kicked out. worth it tho!

You can now download audio commentary for some of the MFAH’s exhibitions on their website. They come in several formats so you can upload them to your iPod or mp3 player and then listen to them at the museum. The works of art that are discussed even have an “M-cast” icon next to their labels, making them easy to find.

My mom used to take us here on a regular basis. One of my best memories of childhood is of the Christmas trees with which they decorated the museum every year. They have many of them throughout the museum, all decorated differently with ornaments from different countries and ages.

Sigh! I wish that was one tradition that had not been allowed to die.

The museum has this great Mies van der Rohe architecture, and the collection is interesting, too.
