9:30 Club

Best venue in the DC area. Period.

Sweet venue in a sleazy alley. Saw some great shows here—Interpol, Built to Spill, Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Dillinger Escape Plan…. damn, I saw a lot of good shows here. This place has pretty awesome sound, too. Definitely a venue worth remembering.

The current version of the 9:30 Club isn’t as much fun as the original at 9:30 F St. but it still gets good bands, is very comfortable with good sound (at least in the center). You can still get really close to the bands on stage which I think is important to the live experience.

I miss the old legendary club though—used to work in the coatroom there – and went to shows there since the day it opened. Saw so many great bands and made so many life-long friends while dancing there. I’ll never forget it.

I hope to get here some day and I trust I will. Such a legendary venue.

The 930 club isnt in the best area of dc. The first time I went there i was fourteen years old and when the guard stamped my hands for being under age he screamed “IF I CATCH YOU DRINKING I WILL THROW YOU OUT!”...it was a little scary but regardless it is a great venue. Has a good sized balcony, they hand out free water. if you go get someone to drop you off so you dont have to deal with the weird foreigner working the parking.

It’s a pretty dope venue, about medium size and a great place to see many indie artist whether it be hip hop or alternative, 9 30 has it all

this is probably my favorite venue for my area. it’s got great sound and they get great names to come. they keep the tix price cheap and the staff is really chill. just don’t get shot when you leave and pay the $10 bucks for parking so you won’t find your car on cinder blocks.

I’ve seen about 8 shows here….it’s a nice, small venue. Much much better than arena shows.

I went to the Lifehouse/Mozella show last night there. I forgot my camera, and wasn’t feeling all that well, but the show was great.
