Mohegan Sun Casino

My aunt got my to go into that sky bar the one with the planetarium ceiling and all the furniture is like velvet. Yeah that was pretty sweet, she could’ve gotten into trouble for letting me in there because of my age and all.
Becuase of my age I usually spend my time in Kids Quest but it’s all good I’m saving tickets to get a REALLY cool prize. I like it there even though sometimes it’s quite annoying like when they have big name performers booked or that one time when all those little cheerleaders swarmed the casino, I had a panic attack that day….large numbers of people+social phobia= disaster.

Its always a great time when your at Mohegan, the casino complex is bigger than most small towns, plenty of gambling to be done and a few very good restaurants, (get the duck sampler at bamboo forest) and a few nice bars. my favorite is leffingwells.

The rooms are expensive, 499/night for a weekend, but usually if you call them and charm them a little, they will offer you a better rate. If not go on a weekday and youll have a blast while all you coworkers are drowning in paperwork

I had a pretty great time there being only 17 and all. I think I have my mom’s boyfriend convinced to take my there for me 21 birthday =)

Well it’s not that I want to go here. I mean my uncle is security there. But I’m going to be there sunday-tuesday and visiting my family around the norwich area while I’m there. oh yay.

Earlier this month I had gone down to Foxwoods for my birthday, and I thought it was a pretty nice casino. But, then on our way back we stopped at Mohegan, and damn I was impressed. It seems cleaner than Foxwoods. Only caveat, they were super strict on checking ID’s … kind of a bummer when you’re trying to have a good time.

in my opinion it is the better of the two casinos. it is much smaller than foxwoods and there are less children running around. the restaurants are fantastic. i love the summer shack & big bubbas.

I am from Montville, CT, home of Mohegan Sun Casino, and yes I remember what Fort Shantock looked like at night before the blinding glare of the bling bling. No major complaints here though, as is with most towns of Southeastern Connecticut, Montville was a declining town that was once dependent on textile mills along the Thames. The casinos employ quite a lot of people so hooray for that. And in any case, if you’re trying to decide between Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, definately go to Mohegan Sun. And while you are there, check out the Well’s Dinosaur Haven, just across from the casino on Route 32 and say hello to everyone for me.

Aside from the casino itself, Mohegan has great restaurants, a mall, concerts, sporting events and a Dale Chihuly sculpture. Fun way to spend the day (especially if you leave with some cash!).

There is some statistic that goes with this place like biggest U.S. casino (in square feet or tables). I can’t remember; however, it is HUGE and in the middle of nowhere as far as I could tell.
