Red Rock Canyon

Went there to do some hiking on a gorgeous saturday morning, perfect temperature, sun, wind, it was a perfect day. We tried to do the turtlehead trail but got lost ad ended up doing our own version of it, and am i glad we didn’t follow the trail. We went up washes, cliffs, rocks, trunks, anything you can imagine. Finally we ate granola bars atop a HUGE boulder overlooking the other formations at red Rock. Then we did another trail on the “red rocks” and at the end of the trail there was a green pool of water and an overlook to the entire city. If you are in Vegas, this is definitively a must see. Oh by the way, i cracked up with the “wild burros”. Where i’m from burros are trucks or vehicles, not wildlife, i thought it was hilarious. Sorry i forgot my camera that day :(

A quick escape from Vegas, and if you’re like me and can only take so much of the city, a much needed relief. A most beautiful area.

A great place to hike. They have easy to advanced trails and even a few verticle climbing areas. The scenery is awesome. One can forget they are just a few miles from the city.
