I have lived in Winona since I was 6 years old. I think I know, at least by association every teenager in this town. It is a decent place to grow up, but I can’t imagine what you would vacation here for.

Winona is definitely a sleepy town, but full of history. Recently, I have been spending a lot of time here helping my grandmother move, and got to know a little more about the town. I would highly recommend the Blue Heron Cafe as a place to get good food. The morel mushroom quiche was the best I ever had.

i lived in Winona for 7 years, and must say that while it has its charming moments, it’s the kind of small town that makes one go crazy! absolutely bonkers.

i later found out that my ancestors lived here for a while :)

My family visited winona in ‘92 or something like that.

My father answered an Any Soldier letter while in the army from an elderly woman (named Helen) who resided in Winona. He told her if she was free on a Saturday night he would take her dancing. The nursing home (Helen was in her 90s and blind) thought this was a magnificient idea and flew my father (from Saudi Arabia) and my family (from Maine) to Minnesota to meet her. We were treated like royalty, and Helen got her dance.
