Dallas Museum Of Art

Not sure why I didn’t check this off my list years ago, but it’s definitely one of the finer points of Dallas.

was for my cousin’s wedding reception. They were married at the church right across the street. It was a good reception (you know, the usual wedding reception stuff) but the food was frickin’ awesome!!

I love going to the museum on Thursday nights or on Late-Nights (third Friday of the month)...They have live music and some really cool exhibits.

mostly cool stuff… sometimes there are boring exibits. GO TO THE CONTEMPORARY GALLERY

has some fascinating shows. The Dallas Art district is coming alive with the Nasher scuplture garden by Renzo Piano, and new theaters by Sir Norman Foster, and Rem Koolhaus. Also,take the train to dowtown Ft. Worth. The Tadao Ando Museum (The Modern of Ft. Worth) and The Kimball (a Louis Kahn masterpiece), are architectural wonders. They sit on the same block, and, while taking the train from Dallas, it’s worth it to see the sprawl through the two cities.. (although going North to Frisco, is the real abomination).

Very nice – i love going here on Thursdays – it is free to get in and they have live jazz playing – very neat—i am not really into the modern stuff as much as the romantic and renaissance periods – they have some wonderful works painted in those periods :)

Now, I don’t hate or dislike Texas. Let us just saw that Texas and I agree to disagree. I agree to live in other states and visit my Grandparents on occasion and Texas agrees to not come visit me once I leave the state border. I fair pact. However, they do have a great museum and I go there every time I visit. And I do have to admit they have pretty decent theatre.
