Phoenix Art Museum

i love this art museum. its bigger and better than anything we have here in miami. you can spend the entire day here if youre not in a hurry. some highlights for me included paintings by arizona native philip c. curtis, which were eerie depictions of life and death in the desert, as well as the ancient tibetan and chinese buddhist sculptures and artifacts.

For an art starved city such as Phoenix, this was a decent museum. I would not rank it compared to some of the museums in Chicago, LA, NYC, or SF, but for Phoenix, It was better than I expected.

I saw Monet pieces. They were really great.
At least visit one.

it has a good miniatures collection and I volunteered there so I can’t not recommend it.

I try to go on a Thursday night when I see that they have a new show.

Some great traveling exhibitions have come through the Phoenix Art Museum, which I visited several times when I was in college. In successive years, I got to see art (and artifacts) from ancient Egypt, Monet and Norman Rockwell.
