Total Paradise!!

An absolutely mind blowingly gorgeous tropical island on the eastcoast of Malaysia. you have to see it to believe it. Forget Hawaii… go to Tioman. Or better yet, don’t go! and leave it unspoiled ;)

Watch out for salvage ships and diggers

Nearby Pulau Rawa was far more scenic… had a semi-disaterous time on Pulau Tioman with heavy machinery on the beach running over our towels and industrial / military freighters surrounding the snorkeling areas. Kind funny in retrospect. Photos here.

My first turtle encounter

This is where I snorkled with a trutle. The experience was amazing. Also encountered a fish the size of a refrigerator (as my friend put it). Later found out it was a Bump Head Parrot Fish. They usually swim in schools and feed on corals. Interesting!

Place to chill out

It is perfect place to get away from busy life. I went to Salang village which is best for snorkelling and diving. Seafood was fantastic!

Clear blue water!

Tioman Island is a small island off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. It’s accessible by plane from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. You can also go by speedboat, as I did (took about 4 hours).

It’s a small island with a lot of different hotels and resorts. The water is very clear and blue – great for snorkeling or diving.

I recommend it for a nice, laid-back, relaxing beach holiday.
