A review of this place

Youngstown sure is a boring place. People here are either cool or uptight. There isn’t much to talk about this place that is interesting. There is Youngstown State University. They used to have an awesome football team. Some good restaurants are The Springfield Grill, Anthony’s On the River, Timberlanes of Salem, Das Dutch Haus. Mill Creek Park is nice for various activities.

Lived here

I lived here from Aug ‘76 to Feb ‘78 when I got married. Worked in the Mahoning Bank Building – 7th Floor. Liked the little mall, but that is about all. It was okay when I lived there, but now….it’s pretty much run down and deserted. Don’t go if you don’t have to.

This place is just dirty. I would never ever ever ever want to live in Youngstown. So many rough areas, rude people and not enough opportunities.

Why I recommend this place to locals

I firmly believe that a city is only as scary as you let it become. New York, LA, Chicago, and other big cities are considered amazing places. They have many of the same problems as youngstown. Check out the downtown…it’s growing

A review of this place: Warning Warning Run Run for your life!!!!!!!!

I’ve been to Youngstown several times for extended family visits and guess what it’s a great place to live is you want to work and live on a street where every third house is either burned down, missing, abandoned, or leaning. The cities bridges are neglected as with much of the cities infastructure. You drive down a main street and you think your in the ghetto but nobody is walking the streets and there are only a few people driveing. There are burned out shells of stores and othere buildings. I hate this city because it is dying. There was a town in PA that went threw the same thing and everybody left even the mayor and the state came in and tore down the town and I think this will eventually happen to youngstown if there isn’t a turn around. Plus you can buy big house with severl lot around it for as little as 10,000 dollars. Now does that explain ecnomic depression.

How this place changed my life

Do yourself a favour; if you don’t have to, don’t go to northeast ohio or youngstown. Ever. Every bad thing anyone ever said about it is true. The university faculty deliver a quality education, but the degree won’t mean anything to potential employers if you ever intend on leaving this backwater hell-on-earth.
