Calgary Stampede

I had never been to a rodeo, hardly surprising seeing as I live in London in the UK. Horses there are a pedestrian affair ridden either by young girls or police! This was a dirty, roaring, exciting introduction to the world of the cowboy.

Yes I’ve lived about 2 hours from Calgary my whole life, I’ve been there dozens of times…..and I’ve never gone to the Stampede. People come from all over the world to see “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” and yet I’ve never been there. My kids want to go so I’ve made them a deal…..looks like it’ll be the Summer of 2005, I’ll let you know how it was!

Growing up with the Stampede, I’ve gone many years in a row. It’s always fun, and the whole city gets into the spirit.
