Milwaukee Summerfest

Worth visiting if there’s a good band playing, especially. Some nights there are multiple good bands playing, and these are the nights when it’s an insanely good deal for the price. There are all sorts of discounts to get in too. However, if there are no good bands, then there’s not much to do except eat, drink, and ride the ferris wheel.

I’ve been to the Big Gig many times to see groups ranging from the Violent Femmes to the Gin Blossoms.

Early june, every year, downtown Milwaukee fills with musicians, vendors and brewers. Down by the lakefront, there’s a week of non stop partying. A heck of a time, but come soon, it’s under new managment and they now serve martinis instead of straight beer.
