XXX Root Beer Drive-In aka: Triple X

We finally got there. It was very worth it, and we will have to go back.

Summer weekends are especially fun, as classic car owners will gather in the parking lot to see and be seen. Good place to go on a Saturday night!

...then it’s worth stopping by. The food is good, but it’s not like it’s the “best” burger joint in the world. What makes this place fun is the atmosphere, and moreso when it’s summertime on the weekend and people show up from all over with their classic cars and hot rods. Then you stop by on a warm summer day (hey, we actually have some of those here :) get a burger, rings, and shake, and check out all the cars lined up in the parking lot.

Now if it’s winter and/or it’s a weekday, then I would rate it “Not worth it”; after all, it’s the people and their cars that help complete the fun atmosphere of this place.

Nice place to take the kids, especially when they have the antique and muscle car shows.

Technically speaking, they do not brew their own root beer. Rather, they buy the XXX syrup through a special arrangement with the Coca-cola bottling company. (This agreement apparently expires in less than two years.) Still, it’s darn fine root beer and worth the visit.

Shakes are also good, too.

XXX (pronounced “triple X”) is a gem of a place. They still brew their own root beer and regularly land on the national top 10 list for best root beers. You can learn morea bout the history of XXX—it’s a great stop after you hike around Snoqualmie Falls.
