Saguaro National Park

I haven’t been to the western section of the park yet (the Tucson Mountain District), but the eastern section (the Rincon Mountain District) has a fantastic 8-mile one-way paved loop that’s great for bicycle riding. There’s very little traffic, some good climbs and whoop-de-dos, and the scenery is great.

is a great part of visiting prescott..
everytime I go to visit a couple friends
I make plans for the next drive up..

If you want to see saguaros, this is the right place! It’s almost like a forest of saguaros. It also has beautiful wild desert flowers in Spring. I like the desert so I think this is a beautiful place, but it’s definitely best to visit sometime other than summer!

Was a nice place to visit. My kids had a nice time and we hope to head back up in the winter. :)

Recommendations:
Visit in the winter time!!! (STRONGLY recommended for those not comfortable with AZ summer heat)
Visit Tombstone, you’re less than an hour away
If you’ve got the time, keep going south to Bisbee. The copper mine tour there is fun and the town is a nice little place to stay the night. The historical hotels have a lot of history there.

Worth the entire flight to Tucson. Really awesome. And the old ranger guy really wanted to teach us all about cacti!

Goe during the Leonids in August. See the park, bar-b-que and stay up late for the awesome meteor showers. The west side of the park is behind the Tucson Mountains and blocks most of the city light allowing for great meteor watching.
