Edmonds

Edmonds is becoming a cool place to visit. They’ve got the Puget Sound waterfront, a bunch of great places to eat. The nightlife is also getting to be really good. So far I’ve been to Rory’s and the Taki Tiki Bar and I’ve enjoyed myself quite a bit at each place.

I visited my aunt there last summer…

Practically consider myself from there, though I grew up in Shoreline. My ideal place to live would be Edmonds. It’s gorgeous and close to everything you want or need.

So much like home, becuase I live there. When we moved to Seattle 2 years ago, we spent 6 months decided where to buy a house, and we settled on Edmonds. It’s a sleepy ‘burg with lots of retirees. But, I love the small town feel, so close to Seattle.

Of course, my Seattle friends think I might as well be living in Canada. But, the commute isn’t bad, especially considering what I dealt with in Atlanta prior to moving here!

Well… I like to ride the ferry.

Edmonds is mainly a ferry-terminal location, but it does have two things going for it: Rory’s of Edmonds, a bar with a deck that offers good views of the Puget Sound and the ferry waiting area; and a good annual arts festival that’s big enough to attract real talent but small enough to avoid huge crowds.

Downtown Edmonds has a sleepy small-town feel to it. A few good galleries and a couple of decent restaurants but mostly this city is good for getting to Kingston on the ferry.
