I wonder

how many visitors to Seattle make it out to this neighbourhood? Felt very laidback – and some great views back towards downtown?

West Seattle kicks ass. Best views out of any neighborhood in the city.

Great Fun with a Great Crowd!!

My man and I went here one night because we wanted a couple of drinks and some dessert. First they had those yummy warm REAL tortilla chips with good salsa. They also poured quite stiff drinks. I totally recommend The Matador to anyone.

Untitled

It’s Seattle, but more so, and less so. Small townish, with some urban funk and NW kitsch thrown in.

Great place to be

I recently moved to West Seattle. I love it because it is outside the downtown area in a little enclave to its self. We have Puget Sound on three sides and the Olympic mountains to the west.

great place to live

if you can afford it, of course. as I write this (Aug, 29th 2005) seattle is the most overpriced city in america. west-seattle is no exception, and our 1,700 sq. ft. craftsman has just appraised at half a mil. but what a great neighborhood. great schools, neighbors are all nice, it’s a great community in general, stores in walking distance (depending on where you live in w-seattle) and alki, (arguably seattle’s best beach) is a minute away. 10 minutes from downtown, that is, outside of rush-hour – but you could say the same for any neighborhood in seattle. and west-seattle’s best kept secret? it’s the best weather in seattle. I know, I know, the weather sucks here – but! having lived downtown, east-side, and out on bainbridge island I can safely say that west seattle consistently gets more sun than all of those places. it’s a peninsula, and for some reason the clouds seem to go around. you don’t have to believe me, that’s fine. we’ll just keep that nice weather to ourselves.
