if you can afford it, of course. as I write this (Aug, 29th 2005) seattle is the most overpriced city in america. west-seattle is no exception, and our 1,700 sq. ft. craftsman has just appraised at half a mil. but what a great neighborhood. great schools, neighbors are all nice, it’s a great community in general, stores in walking distance (depending on where you live in w-seattle) and alki, (arguably seattle’s best beach) is a minute away. 10 minutes from downtown, that is, outside of rush-hour – but you could say the same for any neighborhood in seattle. and west-seattle’s best kept secret? it’s the best weather in seattle. I know, I know, the weather sucks here – but! having lived downtown, east-side, and out on bainbridge island I can safely say that west seattle consistently gets more sun than all of those places. it’s a peninsula, and for some reason the clouds seem to go around. you don’t have to believe me, that’s fine. we’ll just keep that nice weather to ourselves.
