Memphis Zoo

I believe if memory serves me correctly, that Tennessee residents get in free on Tuesdays. (You must show an ID or driver’s license to prove you’re a resident, though.)

Panda bears! This is the only U.S. zoo with panda bears that I have not visited yet.

I found the zoo quite nice. They had a lot of unique animals that we don’t have at our own zoo. We got half price admission since we are members of the Tulsa Zoo Friends and Memphis is a AZA reciprocal discounted zoo. The pandas were very cool. I think the zoo was just big enough too spend an afternoon but not so big that you don’t get to see everything and just skip to the pandas. We saw the entire park and didn’t feel rushed to get done for our dinner plans. We had lots of fun here and I’d definately go back.

I have been to a few zoos and love the Memphis zoo. The pandas are great and they are building the Northwest Passage right now.

ever been to a zoo so damn big you give up on seeing all the animals after the first 4 hours? This ain’t it! you can see the whole zoo in half a day. And see the pandas, my daughter loves ‘em.

Too young to breed yet but I would like to see them anyway!

It’s okay for a zoo. It has an Egyptian theme

Of course, you have to go and see the pandas, but the rest of the zoo is quite humble.
