Originally planned only one day

but I stayed for two. Am even thinking about, eventually, moving there. Peaceful and historic.

Why I want to go to this place

I invited my friend to a Bornholm trip. We’re going to ride entire island on our bicycles. I’m still searching for people who would be interested in it. Unfortunatelly, we can’t manage the trip in 2006. We’re going in the next year in summer for sure!

Great place to visit in the summer and travel around the island on a bicycle!

We only got to spend a day here (overnight ferry there and back from Copenhagen), but we need to go back. Rønne is a nice town, good for walking around and exploring the small streets. We also took a bus up to the north coast and hiked to Hammershus, a rather large, ruined castle. The beach near Hammershus was also nice, and surprisingly warm for as far north as it is.

A great island

Bornholm is really a great place…so great that I have decided to move there.
I’m just about to buy a house there and I never think I will regret that!
I’ve uploaded some photos

Beautiful landscape, historical buildings & friendly people...

I’ve been there three times, and would always go there again. You find very different kinds of landscape from steep coast with rocks, lots of woods and fields to sandstrands in the south.

People are friendly and open minded towards tourists, as tourism is one of their main income sources. The doors of the historical churches aren’t locked or watched by guards as you would expect in other places. Many aspects of daily life seems to rely on trust here (which I find great).

special Tip: Take your bike with you, as nearly every little road and street has its own bikeway besides itself and the isle is only 35km in diameter.

special Tip II: Try the smoked fish…
