As the sun sets, the underbelly of Nashville society (teenagers) emerges. A.K.A. don’t stay after sunset unless you enjoy local kids.

I live at Vanderbilt, and I finally walked over to Centennial Park. Of course, it was closed on Sundays (during every month but July and August). Still very beautiful from the outside.

Nice place but be careful when visiting after dark. Located in Centennial Park, it is a hang out for a bad breed of homeless guys, drug addicts and winos who will try to bum money or possibly even rob you. I lived in the area for awhile and can attest it’s reputation. It was known as a high crime area at that time. In all fairness though, Nashville does a pretty good job of keeping its tourst areas safe. I’m willing to bet it’s much safer than visiting public parks in many major cities.

Lived in Nashville for a couple of years. My mother used to work close to the Parthenon. It is located in Centennial Park, which is a beautiful Park.

The Parthenon is situated in the beautiful Centenial Park in Nashville. It has a museum inside, and also houses a large statue of Athena. It is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, with a nice lake, trails, swings, etc. during the day, bring some old bread for the ducks, and don’t forget a frisbee or a baseball and mitt. a blanket and a book would also be a good idea. In the evening on Saturdays, during early summer, check out the big band in the pavilion. A good time for dancers and observers alike. Later in the year, don’t miss Shakespeare in the Park.

Is this the only full size scale model of the Parthenon?
Athena’s size was impressive. ...fun if you are into history/archeology.
It is a replica, but still fun for an hour break
