Roppongi

We stayed in Roppongi for our whole trip. Close to food and bars, which was the major draw for my husband. Our first night we ate at TGI Friday’s. It had been over a year since either one of us had been anywhere near one…. we were enthralled! We ate so much while we were in Roppongi. Had it not been for all the walking we did I would have gained 20 lbs on that trip!

Our visit to the birth place of Karaoke was honoured with an hour session in a karaoke booth. We sung classics such as Pride (In the name of Love), Dancing Queen, Under the Bridge, Foot Loose, Baby got Back and I will Survive. Can you pick the songs I selected and the ones Andrew did?

This is a great night life spot. This is a place where all tourist come out to party. There is a club for everyone and everything is packed. All people are welcome here. Come in a huge group and it’s even more fun.

I was here Feb. 2006 4th Sat. night and 6th Mon. morning. This area is fairly new, especially the Roppongi Hills shopping complex. This area was 80% crowded. The crowd on the streets was 18-30. Although I read a lot about the bars, I didn’t see a single person or group I thought was heading to the bars. The bars did not spill any music out. There were no line ups outside despite it being Sat. night around ?? o’clock. Maybe it wasn’t late enough? There is a highway on top of Roppongi Dori which doesn’t disrupt the look of the street level shops.
