Musée Rodin

Worth visiting!

I couldn’t believe I was actually standing in front of “The Thinker”! It was a surreal experience, though I found it kind of difficult to move around the museum itself. It’s like walking through a really large house, but the rooms themselves are on the smaller side. In the height of summer, it can get crowded, but thankfully the weather was mild and everyone wasn’t sweaty. (note: For others who said it wasn’t crowded, I kind of wonder when you folks went because I went in July. Also, what museum is that up above in the photo?)

This is maybe my favorite museum experience ever. Small, focused, not crowded, incorporates nature, great art, great views. Just a lot of things going for it, especially compared to the slog of so many of the bigger museums I tried on my Europe trip.

Robust Rodin

This is a small museum, but it has a very good collection of Rodin pieces in bronze, plaster and other media (including The Thinker, one of my favorite sculptures). It wasn’t crowded, which made it a very nice change of pace from the hordes at the Louvre and the Musee d’Orsay.

super cool

Another fabulous museum. It is not too big or overwhelming like the Louvre, and it is so relaxing taking in the sculptures in the garden… although there was a lot of work going on while I was there. Dusty.
