Georgetown

I was walking out of some over priced bar and said to my friend I would rather be in Iraq then Georgetown and the bouncer laughed his butt off.

Georgetown is a lot of fun – there’s a lot of cute little boutiques as well as the bigger chain stores and there’s a huge variety of places to eat – everything from Ethiopian to the standard Irish pub…it’s kind of touristy as well – not too much so, but it has its issues. It’s impossible to get a car through and insanely expensive to park. I recommend walking some of the side streets in the neighborhood, as it is one of the most beautiful historic city neighborhoods around.

For any out of town visitors, I highly recommend getting over to the DuPont Circle area as well. It’s very cool and less touristy. It doesn’t focus on the chain stores – just has smaller boutiques and really awesome restaurants. Also a few blocks down, the Adams Morgan area is great and has the best Ethiopian restaurants anywhere – it’s a real treat.

Your better off walking.Dont even think about getting in a car or bus.Its soooooooooooooo crowded here.

Look forward to visiting again, especially the University. I love watching the people, I suppose they’re sometimes rich people; I like finding little food places, I love spending time in the old buildings…

I just went along the shopping street in georgetown, went to the french restaurant and had the raw tartar steak.. it was great!

This place is awesome. The shopping is expensive but cool. Its a mini new york. There are a lot of homeless people so watch out. Check out Urban Outfitters and Johnny Rockets.

Georgetown is a lot of fun, but I hope you have lots of cash b/c it’s expensive as shit. I work down the street so I get to walk in and wander around. Paolo’s is my absolute fav. place to eat. Favorite store is Room with a View—altho thats upper Gtown. Both on Wisconsin Ave. If you want a fun crowd go on the weekends and nites—its full and the bars are packed. Altho I will warn you they can be packed w/obnoxious rich yuppy kids but it is DC after all. They’re not all bad
