The Screams make it all worthwhile
Excellent food, incredible ambiance, but the screaming… the screaming makes it glorious.

The Blue Bayou is one of those great ideas that people always come back to and talk about. Set in the extremely dim and dusky park of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The fireflies buzzing, the old guy in the rocker playing his banjo with the slow bayou flowing by. If only they offered food worth a crap it would be worth paying the park entrance fee just for this place.

When I worked at the mouse house many many moons ago, a girl I was dating used to waitress there (and “upstairs” on occasion).
The reservations for it would fill up very early in the morning on busy days, and walk-in traffic would have to wait for ridiculously long times.
The food, IMHO, was your average park restaurant fare. Skip it – grab some junk food and go on rides – it’s what you’re there for, right?

at the Blue Bayou. The Blue Bayou restaurant, of course, is located within Disneyland at New Orleans Square, and overlooks the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
They have improved their menu, but I keep getting the same thing: the Monte Cristo sandwich. it’s not for wimps, as it’s a sandwich totally encased in fat. Yummy.
