Cookie Boat?

I was there around POTC: 2 fever, so the menus were all neat, and they had cookie boats that featured a POTC sail. I’m not going to lie. I kept it…even though it was edible. I can only eat 1 bite of the Monte Cristo before feeling sick. It is extremely rich. The gumbo is delicious. When making reservations, ask for a table close to the water, or when you get there, say you’ll wait until there is one available. It is amazing. Very dark, but that’s the ambience. Best food in the park, but probably the most expensive, too.

A review of this place: It's all about

the monticristo sandiwches. But make sure you call a few days before you go to the park to make reservations. If you wait till the day of, you might not get in.

You’re definitely paying for the atmosphere as opposed to the actual food. Worth it though. When we went to Disneyland last summer, my cousin, little sisters and I gave each other Southern-sounding names and talked like the people in the To Kill a Mockingbird movie while we sipped our mint juleps. Fun times :)

A review of this place: Best ambience

Honestly, this restuarant has the neatest ambience I’ve ever encountered – although you might want to avoid the lunch rush! It is a bit over priced for the food quality though!

A review of this place: You Should Try It at Least Once

I make it down to Disneyland at least once each year. You should try eating at Blue Bayou at least once.

The food for the most part is neither here nor there. It’s pretty good as far as amusement park food goes, but you can find better at a nice restaurant outside of the park.

The thing that really makes Blue Bayou special is the atmosphere. It’s nice to come in after a busy day in the park and relax in the evening coolness, no matter what time of day it is outside. It’s a fun place to eat, although a little bit on the expensive side compared to other restaurants in the park.

Tips for visiting Blue Bayou:
  • Drop by early in the day and make a reservation
  • Try to get a table near the water

Even if you're not hungry...

...just go on a hot day, settle in with a (non-alcoholic) mint julep, watch the artificial fireflies and the boat ride coming by and relax. It’s worth it if you’re in the park.

i always get shafted and get a table next to the trash can or the kitchen or the bathroom. one time i managed to get a good table on the railing by the water. i also always get the monte christo sandwich and then feel kind of ill for a couple hours afterwards. but i have to have that monte christo.

If there is a heaven, it is Blue Bayou

I wouldn’t mind dying here as I chow down on jambalaya and enjoy a non alcoholic mint julep. the feeling of peace I have inside the restaraunt rivals any vacation I’ve taken in my life.
