Multnomah Falls

just wish i wasn’t there when it was freezing, and the bridge was covered in ice!! beautiful, i can not wait to go back!!!

was the first stop on our honeymoon.

Skip the climb to the top unless you really need the exercise. There are other hikes in the area that provide better views and are less crowded.

you used to be able to go up to the bridge and follow the path down to the base of the falls… It was awesome and you could swim in the pool. after that bus sized rock fell, they closed the path.

The legend of the falls is a neat story too

Beautiful place. I was working for Intel and traveled to Oregon. On some freetime, my manager, a colleague and I went hiking in this area. I’d go again. My kids would love it here.

but I’d never be able to do it justice. The falls are breathtaking. Do yourself a favor, take a lot of water, do aerobics the day before, and hike the mile to the top. It’s a long, LONG, mile, but you’ll thank yourself for it when you reach the top.

If you’re looking for inner peace, it’s hard not to find it looking out over the falls, across the Columbia… sigh

I can’t wait to go back.

This is just a cool little waterfall with a short trail off the side of the road on the way back to Portland. Really neat little place but gets kinda crowded (at least when I was there).

Went here with friends I was visiting…it was a beautiful day..the spray from the waterfall felt great. You should see this if you are visiting.

This fall is great of course, but if you have time I suggest visiting the less commercialized falls like Wahkeena Falls and Horsetail Falls. If you really have time, hike up into the Gorge a bit because the most spectacular falls are hidden.
