Our family has a membership. We go very often. I love the Coal Mine exhibit. The live chicks, and hatching eggs are a favorite for the kids. The food court is amazing! And the staff are very helpful. Don’t miss the omnimax shows!

Haven’t been since I was a kid. I can’t wait to go back and take my daughter when she’s a little older.

Really cool gift shop if you can make your way around the crowdedness.

I went to the Body Worlds exhibit. (a traveling exhibition of preserved human bodies and body parts that are prepared using a technique called plastination to reveal inner organs or structures.)

It was one of the coolest exhibits I’ve ever seen even though its definitely not for the squeemish. I even found myself squeeming out a little bit. Everything was just so real. It freaked me out but it was awesome.

i find these entries really endearing because i live a block away from the msi. it’s easily my favorite building in hyde park. its the only building still standing from the world’s fair of 1893.

My favorite was always Colleen Moore’s fairy castle, but there’s so much to do here. The coal mine, the submarine, even the stairs with the “slices of life” (ugh). It’s the opposite of a dry, glass-caged museum where you aren’t to touch and your experience is tied closely to how well the curators has written up (or explained) the exhibit.

when i first made my way to the ticket line, all i was thinking was “dude, this place is huge.” and I hadn’t even seen the first floor yet. I spent my whole day there. it was rather cool. But I advise you not to take kids under the age of 10 there, unless they have attention spans.
