La Crosse

I was visiting a friend for Riverfest 08, and hope to be back for Octoberfest!

and i can’t say i really like it here. i grew up overseas in both panama and japan and have found a fond dislike for small towns that are WAY fuckin spread out…la crosse isn’t that bad, but i can’t wait to get out of here…get out of this country i guess

I went to college in LaCrosse and was happy living there for six years between both of my degrees. It’s nice to go back & visit.

I’ve always really liked La Crosse, I’m from the area, and it has much more culture than the surrounding towns: This is a nice town, it has it’s own feel to it - the “historic downtown” is very cool, especially Pearl Street. Lots of great hang-out places, like Jules’ Coffee House and the Bodega Brew Pub; Good restaurants, too - if you plan on visiting, the Freighthouse, Hackberry’s Bistro, Piggy’s, and Fayze’s are all really nice, and relatively cheap…I think that La Crosse is definitely worth visiting.

I lived in La Crosse as a young girl and have some fond and some sad memories from there. The picture is of me when I lived on Division Street. I have not had opportunity to go back for any length of time, but the times I have been back or driving through I know that it is a beautiful place. I would love to go back and see some of the places I used to live, but I know they are probably drastically different now.

Has a cool historic downtown area…with cool historic beer.

i’m from the twin cities (minnesota) and here is what i think of good ol’ LAX: a wonderful small-town feel with all the conveniences of a larger city.

it is beautiful year-round, especially the fall and summer.
there’s my 2 cents.

After reading the descriptions on here, I’m not so sure. Sounds like it’s basically just a great place to go to college, and drink. I’m done with college, and pretty much done with (regularly) drinking in bars. So probably not my kind of place, I guess. Oh well.

Some web site once told me that this was one of my ideal places to live. I don’t know about that, but it got me looking at things about the city, and it does seem like a cool place. I’d love to see if that impression is correct.

I actually live in La Crosse – lived here my whole life… Its such a beautiful place once you know your way around. For instance I really like to hike, and i hike up on the bluffs (Grand Dads), and found the most beautiful views of the city. I recommend trying them if anyone is planning on visiting La Crosse… if anyone has any questions about La Crosse.. ill be happy to answer them. Or if you want to find some cool places in La Crosse.. ill give you a heads up. :)
