Glastonbury

And most of the time I forget just how lucky I am!

It’s not the easiest place to get to, but Glastonbury is completely worth it once you arrive. The sunset from the top of the Tor is amazing. The town is laden with wonderful bed and breakfasts, and the ruins of the Abbey are an unforgetable sight. The whole place has kind of a sleepy hippie vibe to it, a wonderful place to spend a few days.

My boyfriend took me to Glastonbury as he’d been before and knew I’d love it!

It’s WELL WORTH the long/steep walk to the top of Glastonbury Tor to watch the sunset! The Abbey, Chalice Well and Rifleman’s Arms (pub) are all worth a visit too! These sites are all in quite close proximity to each other, basically branching off Chilkwell Street at different points ^- I’d learnt my way around the town within a couple of hours!

The locals are very friendly/pagans/hippies eg. the lady who helped us find buses from Bristol Temple Meads station to Glastonbury (thank you!)

The campsite we stayed at (Isle of Avalon) was GREAT! It cost us £14 per night based on our 3-man tent and had a fantastic washblock and other facilities including a communal chest freezer, washing machines, tumble dryer, iron and sinks to do your washing up in! There are water and rubbish points in the middle of the fields and they even had a pile of bricks in case anyone brought disposable BBQs – they really think of everything!

was in 1969, before it became famous for the summer festival. It was a very different place then; a sleepy market town. Many places had notices in their windows saying “no men with long hair, no hippies”, how times change, it’s now hippy nirvana.

I’ve heard about the massive amounts of energy in Glastonbury Tor, and want to experience it. The explanations is that the Michael and Mary ley lines cross right around the Tor, which are energy viens.
I’m very curios and drawn to it’s mystery.

This place is so amazing.

There really is nothing else quite like Glastonbury!

Magical, mystical, incredible. The Tor, Glastonbury Abbey, Chalice Well. The best!

I’m a freak about the Arthurian legends so standing in a place associated with them was eerie. Fortunately for me, there were no festivals nor tents on the Tor so I could look out over the countryside and allow my imagination free reign.
