Rome is a crazy city with millions of people going all the time. Be careful of thieves and be ready for horrible service at restaurants. The exception to that is if you are a pretty women, they will treat you well. The people usually have bad attitudes, it is very expensive, the traffic is horrible. Although, all in all it is worth seeing just for the sights. Don’t bother renting a car. Trust me, you will not want to because of traffic. Go there see the sights you want to see and then leave as soon as you can.

My trip to Rome was my first holiday independent of my parents, so that marked it as a very special occasion to start with!
the weather was uncompromisingly hot, so I advise not travelling in July like I did, and go in the spring, particularly when there are fewer tourists around.
always go to the restaurants a little off the main streets, the food is locally sourced, delicious and of a good value compared to the tourist-aimed areas.
a must-visit place is the trevi fountain, i could sit there all day!

I left Rome in 1960 and haven’t been back. I wish I could find someone with some pix. I went to Central Primary, North Rome, and Garden Lakes schools. Yes, I am old- you don’t have to point that out to me.

I love Rome! It is my favorite city in the whole world! When I went there, I got to see the Colloseum and the Roman Forum and and the Vatican and I LOVED it! I felt such a great connection to the city, like I had lived there in a past life! I want to go back soon and do more exploring! I DEFINATELY recomend Rome as a potential place to visit!

I love Rome. I lived there for a combined seven years or so. I live in Calhoun now, and it’s very nearby, so I visit all the time for a Schroeder’s fix or to go hiking on Berry Campus. Here’s a list of my favorite things about Rome:
1. Berry College Campus – it’s gigantic (I think the biggest college campus in the world) and beautiful – it’s so big that the streatch road (that leads to mountain campus) is about three miles. I go hiking there all the time – lots of great trails.
2. Broad Street – Broad Street is the quintessential North Georgia historical downtown – lots of great places to eat and little shops – it’s a lot of fun to wander – there’s also this great bustling energy on Broad Steet during the day or a Friday night (when you divide your time equally among the four bars – unless you have a favorite: I like the Irish Cellar or T. Martooni’s)
3. Schroeder’s Deli – it’s cheap, it’s good, there’s beer, nuff said.
4. The guy who plays bagpipes at the fire station downtown – he plays about every other night in the summer – just to play
5. Fall – In the autumn, there’s all kinds of fun stuff going on in Rome (or maybe I just like the smell of burning leaves) – Chiaha Harvest fair is a ton of fun – it’s a arts and crafts fair with music – A couple of my banjo and guitar pickin’ friends play there a good bit.
