Warwick Castle

We go here with the kids every year for Halloween as we only live an hours drive away. Fantastic spooky atmosphere, loads of entertainment, the new Castle Dungeons definitely worth paying extra for. Don’t pay for the premium Stables car park though, all the other car parks are cheaper and the walk to the castle is scenic enough to make the extra distance worthwhile

I went on a trip there in high school.

Warwick castle has lots going on, or you can walk the grounds.

One of the coolest castles I’ve visited. There are huge fireplaces where a family could almost have enough room to live. Also, darkened towers leading up to the rooftop where you can walk along the battlements are accessible as are the spooky dungeons. Just an all around great place to visit if you are interested in history, architecture, or nobility.

Kingmaker feasts were well worth while. Falconry display worth seeing, but TBH I think the one they do at nearby Hatton Country World is more fun – kids and adults get to have a go getting a small owl to fly to the glove.

It was always my favourite place to go in ‘Activities Week’ at school – I went with my friends two years running :D
Also, Christmas-time 2005, i went ice skating on an out-door ice-rink with my friends, which was fantastic! It was really atmospheric skating within the Castle grounds, and there were people dressed up as characters from Narnia!
Go next Christmas (its a bit far away, but do remember because its oodles of fun!)

Worth a visit to the castle and don’t miss the ‘birds of prey’ show every afternoon. Its great.

I loved this and didn’t want to leave when the day was over, so much to see and explore. It is beautiful and rich in history. The dungeon and the original tower (circa 11th century) was probably the highlight for me.

It can be a bit pricey to get in but believe me it is worth it! Try and go on a day when they have special events and it’s even better, if a tad busy. I have been quite a lot and it never disappoints.
