Valley Of Fire State Park

Worth visiting!

I have never seen anything like this place.

I hated being in a car with tinted windows with people that don’t enjoy breathing fresh air and would rather have them rolled up than rolled down.

I hiked up one of the mountains by Lone Rock with Aaliyah and it was so amazing.

I felt like I had reached the peak of my life, the top of all my accomplishements that I tried and failed in my past.

When you’re up there, who-knows-how-many feet in the air… everything is still.
You don’t make a sound, and you hear absolutely nothing.

You close your eyes and you think you’ve died.

There’s got to be something terribly wrong with you if you can stand over that land, those mountains, and not feel some kind of sorrow, or have to try not to get sand in your eyes while drying the tears from them because it’s just so damn beautifuly breathtaking.

You wonder how man can try to cover what nature gives us already.

We stopped at the Visitor’s Center, and I read the back of one of the postcards.

It said that there’s a meteor shower there four or five times a year, and the front of the postcard had a picture of the stary sky.

I almost cried just looking at that picture.

And I saw a billygoat!

The first time I went to this place

I got married at the Valley of Fire state park. It was great, and we have better wedding pictures than anyone I know!

Probably one of the most...

The Valley of Fire has got to be one of the most spectacular geographical areas to visit in the world! I was overwhelmed… and you must climb to see the petroglyphs. However, even more odd is to read the graffiti that has been left with them over the years. “I LIKE IKE” stood out the most in my memory… Despite the human element, there is nothing quite like a visit to this area to meditate, rest, and relax. I would come back to visit any time—and it is a routine afternoon when I am in the area. Bring plenty of water and dress in layers, though. The elements are less than friendly at times.

Only at Night

I love landscapes of all climates…ironic that the 4 times I went here were all in the dark. Drive slower, its really dark! Nice camping spots, set up fires and had a good time with friends. Also a nice place to go with your significant other, because the stars are beautiful and bright without the light pollution from Las Vegas. When the moon is out, you can see your surrounds very clearly, but the stars are washed out.

A wonderful day outing. Might want to go early spring or winter, as the summer months are pretty hot. Very cool place to hike. Take water.
