The last time I went to this place

A group of friends and I decided we wanted to “trip” away from the city and went to one of our favorite outdoor recreational areas. It happened to be 2:00am and as Red Rocks is a city park, there is a curfew and it was well before the middle of the morning hours we were there.

Hiding under the bright hot pink blanket we brought didn’t fool the park cops that we were there and shouldn’t have been. They were waiting for us when we returned back to our vehicle from up one of the many mountain-type caves we were exploring.

Each of us received a $20 park curfew ticket and me being the rebel I was back then, never paid mine.

Oddly enough, a couple years later I was riding in a car with a friend who was pulled over for no turn signal or some such thing. The cop ran my name and I had a warrant for an unpaid park curfew ticket and spent two days in Denver City Jail.

An unpleasant experience, but an eye opening one, for now I have had a career in law enforcement as a Policeman for over 6 years.

Good times, good times.

Red Rocks is an excellent place to see concerts, wildlife, people watch, see the city of Denver from a distance and just to take a nice stroll with someone you care about. I highly recommend visiting the park, and seeing a concert here, if you’re ever in the area.

I was just there for my brother’s wedding. It was pretty cool. Outside, the foothills in the background, the sun slowly setting behind them.

And the reception was right there too. A great location for a wedding I thought.

AMAZING

This has to be one of the most beautiful places to visit, and see a concert. You’re surrounded by nature and the sounds of the bands. Purely amazing.

Holy crap what a show

Amazing place to see a live show. Pantera and White Zombie ‘95 was great. Also had tickets to see Dave Matthews Band when they recorded their live album from here but ended up having to work and could not get out of it. wish I could have ben there.

How this place changed my life

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre has always been one of my favorite hang outs. During high school it was the place to explore the wonderful caves and enjoy the amazing concerts. I also worked the concession stands during concerts while I was in HS. Red Rocks has continued to be a part of my adult life. I still enjoy several amazing concerts every summer and volunteer with a local grassroots organization who act as ambassadors for the naturual beauty of the park. It is one the amazing wonders of the worlds. Best amphitheatre anywhere!!!

The last time I went to this place

My dad use to take my sister and I to Red Rocks when we were little, to watch the symphony rehearse. Sometimes I really miss Colorado.

Family trip out west

We stopped and saw the Passion Play performed here..

I’d like to go back, visit friends around Denver and Vail, and see Ween and the Flaming Lips, although the show would be a ruse to see old friends..
