Awesome!

This is beautiful and breath-taking, in my opinion. I think it would be awesome to go to a concert there.

Red Rocks

Red Rocks is an awesome place to hear live music. But be sure to get a seat in the middle because the acoustics are bad on the edges of the amphitheatre.

Just a few months ago I got to go to Red Rocks Amphitheatre and play my violin on stage, it was an incredible feeling to think about all the legends that had played on the very stage I was standing on at that moment.

A tip I have about this place

For a less expensive, equally fun, alternative red rocks experience….

load up a backpack with beers, bring a blanket, wear closed toed shoes, and hike up the hill behind the amphitheater. It’s free, you’ll meet lots of randoms, and the sound quality is great. If you go up high enough you should be able to see the stage. I strongly reccommend finding your spot before it gets dark, there are lots of little cactus that can make for an uncomfortable experience. The drunken hike down the hill is an adventure in itself.

Best Music Venue Period.

I saw the Band 311 here in summer of 2006 and being from Chicago and having been to a least 20 venues across the US this one is the best hands down. It is a magical place.

I went here two times last summer. The first time to see John Mayer and Sheryl Crow, and the second time to see The Fray. This is a fabulous place to be for a concert. Outside in the fresh mountain air under the stars, and surrounded by beauty. I recommend sitting towards the top so that you have the great view of Denver and all that this venue has to offer. This is a very intimate and sexy place, go there with someone you love. Both concerts were very good, but my heart goes out to the Fray. This was a special place for them since they are a local band, and they made it a very emotional rockin experience. I would definitely recommend to go see a group play here.

I saw a concert here...

Well duh, that is what people do here. It was the first show not to sell out for The Beatles. In the summer, I run the stairs and try to keep up with pretty women who are always in much better shape than me.
I have seen here: U2, Beck, Ween, Mudhoney, Primus, PJ Harvey, The Black Keys, R.E.M., The Cardigans, Lord Groovy and the Psychedilc Zombies.

The last time I went to this place

A group of friends and I decided we wanted to “trip” away from the city and went to one of our favorite outdoor recreational areas. It happened to be 2:00am and as Red Rocks is a city park, there is a curfew and it was well before the middle of the morning hours we were there.

Hiding under the bright hot pink blanket we brought didn’t fool the park cops that we were there and shouldn’t have been. They were waiting for us when we returned back to our vehicle from up one of the many mountain-type caves we were exploring.

Each of us received a $20 park curfew ticket and me being the rebel I was back then, never paid mine.

Oddly enough, a couple years later I was riding in a car with a friend who was pulled over for no turn signal or some such thing. The cop ran my name and I had a warrant for an unpaid park curfew ticket and spent two days in Denver City Jail.

An unpleasant experience, but an eye opening one, for now I have had a career in law enforcement as a Policeman for over 6 years.

Good times, good times.

Red Rocks is an excellent place to see concerts, wildlife, people watch, see the city of Denver from a distance and just to take a nice stroll with someone you care about. I highly recommend visiting the park, and seeing a concert here, if you’re ever in the area.
