Tobermory

can’t wait to camp there again this summer.

A lovely small town on the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. We stayed in Dyers Bay, not far away, and visited Tobermory a few times. A great place to wander around and very compact. We even had fish & chips in a restaurant overlooking the harbour – with lake trout!

Gorgeous place. Great fish & chips. If you’re camping near by, the Cypress Lakes camp ground is awesome. Go swim at boulder beach in the lovely Georgian Bay!

You dont have to stay long in the Flower Pot Island nor stay more than 2 days in the Bruce Peninsula. Everything you want to see can be seen in 2 days, but if you’re a diver, or a hiker, then 2 days may not be enough.

Cold water but good place for Diving.

WHY?!

Sure, I’m sure its gorgeous if you like sailing or diving. If not, forget it.

Although the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in was upstairs from a Tobermory ‘guest inn’ – it was a Tolkien-esque experience to hear my bedsprings creaking while still able to hear the conversations of the pub-members below… very strange.

In all, avoid like the plague. There are many interesting places you can go that doesn’t take as long to get there.

I went with my wife to Tobermory a couple of weekends ago, and had a wonderful time. It was the third time for us up there in the past 5 years.
