Blue Mountains

Do a day trip that involves some hiking time and a trip on the mining car.

This place is truely amazing. I loved it.

...but stay the night in the Blue Mountains if you can! It’s gorgeous. Take the “scenic railroad” from the valley back up to the top of the cliffs. Ridiculously scary – I was terrified that I was going to fall out! But hubby loved it…..so who knows. There is a fantastic french restaurant in the Blue Mountains, built in an old church. Also lots of little shops to wander around in should you get your fill of seeing the spectacular vistas!

I can’t believe in 26 years in canberra, with so many trips to sydney, that I have never been to the Blue Mountains. I have seen a billion photos and it looks like my kinda place.

i love heading up to the mountains with my 6 dogs, they love chasing wild boar just as much as me, around the national park you cant hunt but we have friends with property up there so it works out well. i go up there from wollongong every second weekend if i can afford the diesel!!!!!!

Our trip was spoiled by bad weather for two days. It rined the views. Otherwise it would have been truly spectacular.

on a sunny day the mountains do look blue!!
its the hue from the Eucalyptus trees… soo nice!!!

lots to do in that general area.. give the water falls that they recommend a miss!!!!
