Animal Kingdom Lodge

We travel to DW every year and I want to stay at AKL on our next trip.

If you like animals or just want a relaxed and amazing atmosphere where you can see beautiful creatures in a happy place as well as be treated like royalty you will love this hotel! You can sit by a bonfire, enjoy a delicious and enticing buffet, view animals at night through infrared vision, and simply escape to a new world of luxury, nature, imagination and beauty

Gorgeous hotel, especially if you have a room facing the animals. It’s quite an interesting hotel for all ages, too, not just small kids or adults.

This place must be seen to be believed. <3

I had the opportunity to visit this lovely lodge and stay for about a week! I truly was captivated and at times, I felt as though I were back in Africa (sans serve poverty and crime). Request a room on the 4th or 5th floor overlooking the Savanah – you’ll get the best view of the animals from these areas. Also, be sure to do the night viewing of the animals – its free (at least in 2003) and you get to wear these cool night vision goggles! We also had LOTS of towel animals left in our room each day when we went to check out the parks. The pool and the resturants are also very nice as well.

Only one complaint (and it’s not even that big a deal) – the lodge is very far from the parks, so the bus ride can be a little long. However, it’s like 15 minutes instead of 5 – no biggie, since the bus is air conditioned :-)

We spent one day/night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and it was incredible. Waking up at dawn and sitting on your patio looking at animals while sipping your morning coffee was an incredible experience and I cannot wait until I get to go back. Make no mistake I would really like to do the real thing on the african plains on a safari too but this is GREAT until I get the chance to go to Africa!
