Not worth visiting!
A review of this place
I lived and worked there for several months in 2001. On 9/11 gas prices at several stations were gouging and hiked up to amounts such as $5 a gallon. Besides the Cherokee Nation Casino and Heritage places, canoe/float river trip outfitters along Hwy 10, Lake Tenkiller, Green Country movie theater, Northeastern State Univ., and Wal-Mart, there’s really no more that significant to do or see there. Several vacant buildings and signs are abandoned for months and even years.
Beware of the city and county (in)justice systems there. DHS, judges and law enforcement are very arrogant, rude, and careless of laws and people’s rights. My child and I were deprived of each other, money and our rights there and turned into a hellish nightmare. I wish my first visit there was my last and only one. That has denegrated my feelings about the whole state. I now resent being born an Okie. There are other horror stories from Chickasha, Claremore, El Reno, OK City and Tulsa.
