Bozcaada, Canakkale

“Why I want to go this place again and again” should be the question.

First, the island Bozcaada gives you an impression that you are not on an island but on the Utopia.

Secondly, the friends who live there, are real friends…especially the staff of Ada Cafe. ( www.bozcaada.info )

Thirdly, wine and natural red poppy syrup. Ask for red poppy with vodka…

I will be there again in late May or early June…The best time of Bozcaada….

I travel Turkey for 2 years. I had my best times here. I was planning to stay for 1 week but it ended as 1 month. It is cool in the hottest days of midsummer, beatiful nature and sea. There are some private houses to stay. I was camping but my parents very much liked to stay at Numara 29. It was like our home. I felt I visit my parents at home after all these time. We will be back very soon, sure…

Wine and History in Bozcaada Island... by tosko

There is a continous life for approximately 5000 years on Bozcaada. Pelasginas are the first inhabitants of the island. After these first inhabitants persians, romans, byzantians, genoese and venetians also settled on the island. After 1453, the capture of Byzantium, by the ottomans, the island became a part of the Ottoman Empire.

Bozcaada is located almost exactly opposite the ancient city of Troia.

Beginning from the ancient times Bozcaada played and important strategical role to control firstly Troia and than the

Dardanelles. In troian war thousands years ago and in the “second troian war” in the first WW in 1915 Bozcaada’s military importance was crucial.

Ada Cafe is the center of all of our activities. Every visitor to Bozcaada comes at least one time a day to Ada Cafe for different reasons: Some of them to take a breakfast, some for dinner, some to rent a bike, some other to taste wine varieties produced on the island, or just to get a free copy of Ada Cafe’s map of the island,or drink red poppy syrup.

Thank you Ada Cafe and island peoples for all thing.
