Pagudpud

...the place is breath-taking! white sand, clear ocean waters… anything that a beach lover could ask for :) though it is a 12hr trip from Manila… the long trip is worth it. :)

.. this place was too far.. the sea was scary since it was an open sea..

Great Place!!! Bin there quite a long time now… Can exceed the beauty of Bora! I even took some white sands for keepsake. \m/ ^^

We (family) went on a road trip last 2003 up north of the Philippines. It was literally a road trip that we just stopped by places to eat, go to the rest rooms, or look at the nice spots for 10 minutes. We didn’t have time to swim and feel that nice sands of Pagudpod. I have to go back!

i last visited this place during the summer of 2005. the beach has remained as pristine as it did 9 years back except that more hut-like pavilions to accomodate guests are visible.
it’s dubbed as the boracay of the north to which i dissent because it’s not really ideal for swimming. you cant wade far enough into the water as the beach bed is just about 10 to 15 meters from the shore. it’s not advisable to go into the water with no protective footwear as the coral formation might be too sharp for your feet.

I had been to Pagugpud a couple of times. The first time, we came from the Cagayan side and had to drive through mountains, which overlooked the China Sea. Spectacular, spectacular view even before we got to Pansian and the “Blue Lagoon”.

Pagudpud’s beauty rests, not only on its fine sand and clear water, but its isolated wonder.

It’s about two hours’ drive from Fort Ilocandia, by the way.
