Artsy Fartsy and awesome, some of the best restaurants and lounges are here.

Not a tourist destination per se, but still a great place to hang out on the weekends for locals. Beware of the pretentious hipsters.

I used to read Chaim Potok’s novels and was totally charmed by his descriptions of Williamsburg and its inhabitants, the Hassidic Jews.

i’m afraid of all the scary hipsters i keep getting warned about ;)

...was when I fell in love with New York and decided to move out here.

I’ve been here before, but it’s always fun to go back! So many cute shops and restaurants. If only it wasn’t so difficult to get there from Brooklyn Heights! Plus, tons of former LES theatre is now there.

Atleast, for now…Williamsburg is my home. It’s not necessarily Manhattan—but that’s what I love about it.

If yer a hipster you’ll love it. the inspiring art, fashion, and music scene. But after a few years you’ll start to get bored of Williamsburg and annoyed with the superficial bullshit that plagues the burg. the fuckin affluent hipsters..the L train..the cocky and pretentious ‘cool’ arrogance that parades Bedford..the obnoxious yuppie tourists that come over from Manhattan…and you will wake up and realize the ‘Manhattanization’ of the outer boroughs is inevitable. But hey, it sure as hell beats Park Slope!!

A tremendous amount of creative energy, while at the same time it’s still possible to get to know all of your neighbors. And there’s always something going on.

I have to wonder why people with an aversion to scene types would ever want to come here though – Williamsburg is famous for that.
